Goodbye my Precious Daddy
My Dad died in Ontario and I went up for the memorial. That is why I have been away a while from here.
I am very very sad and I loved him so much, but he was 91 and was very happily married to my Mom, who is still alive, for 66 years!!! There's a marriage for you to emulate, all ye who enter here. He was a terrific father, grandfather and great grandfather!
RIP my darling Daddy.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm glad that he lived a long, happy life though.

I wish there was something I could do to ease your sadness. I will pray that your heart heals gently, and quickly.
It sounds like your daddy was one of a kind. Very special. Just like you.
Take care.

Thank you all so much for your kindness.
My Mom has Alzheimer's disease and her memory is mostly long-term, she remembers things from way back, and lots of old friends who may since have died. She does remember all her relatives and children, it has not got that bad yet. She lives comfortably (with help) with my brother in Scarborough, Ontario. She is 89. I adore her and she is an angel of a person. Her name is Grace Luke.
When I was there it was heartbreaking to hear her say "Oh my!!! I hope I don't disgrace myself at the Memorial Service!" - and the Service had already taken place the day before. Life's a beach, and so is Alzheimer's.
