Asia Pacific and RTC
Our site has come under attack recently (like last night). The IP address in question comes from Taiwan. Countries in the Asia Pacific are notorious for spamming, phishing, etc.
Instead of blocking a single IP when something like this happens, Steve and I would like to be proactive and just block all subnets that originate from this part of the world.
Before we do this, I wanted to check with the members. Are any of you located in Asia or do any of you plan on or travel to Asia? Because if we do this, our website will be completely inaccessible from the Asia Pacific.

I know a really good herpetologist in Thailand named Michael Corta. I don't know if he will visit this site but his monitor information is priceless. just something to think about before you act.

Yes, Mr Cota would be a great addition to this site. He is a serious herper who is located in Thailand. There have been a few people from Japan and China on RTB, so you would potentially excluse a few people. I opt for safety over inclusion. |
