Irresponsible animal husbandry has made it into the legislature. How about getting rid of Feral politicians. Why do human beings insist on destroying or banning anything different or beautiful. Some days I long for my picket sign of the 60's but I think I would be writing a lot different stuff on it now than I did back then..And who wondered why we use expletives?

Please do not support the ban on the importation and interstate transport of Boa Constrictors and Pythons in the United States. This ban is an unnecessary infringement on the rights of American citizens. This country was founded on the basis of freedom and the rights of the poeple. Yet today, this country is only as free as the government says it is. We only have the "rights" the government allows us to have. We are no longer "free", nor do we have "rights". We are instead, in a sense, prisioners of our country, who have "priviledges". The founding fathers of this once great nation would be deeply saddened. Goverment is trying to pass a law telling mothers and fathers how to raise their children, yet we don't have enough Child Protection Service workers to enforce laws already in place. Those at the school age are not prepared for the real world because, as a nation, people underestimate the resiency of a child, and laws are passed to ensure no child is "left behind"...but then we wonder why the highest paid jobs are not filled by those born and raised in our country. Now, there is an attempt being made to try and wipe out herptoculture. But why? Are there actually any good reasons that do not apply equally to other species? It is my opinion that reptiles, snakes in particular, are a target, simply because they are different. Bans are set in place to try and "show people who keep snakes that it is not socially acceptable". There are some things the goverment just needs to stay out of.

In the title, it states, "Injurious Wildlife Species". Have we forgotten that anything can harm you? If this ban is truely because these species can be harmful, then please, supply every American citizen with a plastic bubble to live in. If you don't, I believe it would be quite a predjudice towards reptiles.

In conclusion, please consider that people have been keeping reptiles longer than most of you have had a career in politics. Yet all of a sudden, there is a collaborative effort to wipe out herptoculture. Does this remind you of the recent "Shark Frenzy" that occured a few years back? Because it reminds me of it, only with politics. Politicians are always looking for something new to try and vanquish, rather than doing any real good and correcting the problems we already have.

Yeah they should see me with mine. I love sitting on the floor letting Prada roam a bit int he bedroom he always makes his way over to me. Houdini is more of a chase than a relaxing time spent but every once in a while he chills and hangs out on my legs. Just the different personalities and the way they look is so much fun. Plus anything you take care of and obsess over how they eat, act, and poop is truly a loved pet.

I agree with you Louise. It's like regressing into a communist state, where all your personal effects and your preferences are removed from you by a mindless, inhuman State.

I hope with all my heart that the protests and outcry and the legitimate arguments will squash this brainless idea.

Thank you for this I hadn't heard about it yet!(hmm I have said this already today) Another example of politicians infringing on citizens rights!!! Home of the free yeah right!!!! All they want to do is regulate this ban this tax that blah blah blah!!!! I am sick of this government!!!!
