Missouri to ban Reptiles/Birds!
http://www.pijac.org/files/public/MO_HB_1847.pdf
Unless you have a MINIMUM of a $20 permit per year, per animal.
This is all about money, who is on this huge anti-reptile trip?

Tell us how you really feel!! :( Unfortunately the government loves to charge us for our freedoms. SO the free in freedom is kind of misguided. Course a month in another country would probably cure us. :scared:

Ok people,
.
This is only a more recent example of the kind of abuses that state and federal and local agencies have been making against reptile enthusiasts. We need to carefully respond to these proposed rules.
.
Tell these agencies you are a responsible citizen. Also remind them that dogs and horses and tainted hamburgers and bags of spinach injure and sicken people everyday and that no interpretation of the statistics of the causes of death or serious injury in humans places captive reptiles in any prominent place on a list of risks to people. Add that you and the herptile community are ready to participate in any way that adds to safety in your community but not at the risk of your rights to continue to enjoy your pets. Advise them that this new rule is a type of prohibition and that as such it is a philosophical weapon, not a tool of management or oversight.
.
Then.. call and visit with your state and national elected representatives. Tell them you are a voter and that these issues are serious concerns and that you and your friends will support the candidates who support us in establishing our rights to have these harmless and educational pets. Remember, only our elected officials create law, the USFWS and their state counterparts issue new rules and regulations at the whim of the legislature
.
The herptile community is way behind the curve in exercising our political muscle. This is an important election year. Tell your representatives that USFWS means SERVICE and that you are tired of misguided idealogues that are hired government employees deciding not to serve but to instead tell us what is or is not an acceptable pet.
.
Think and act..

I seriously doubt "the people in charge of the country" are the ones making Missouri make these laws.
