Unfortunately, some animals don't have the brain capacity to know any better, yet they still aren't doing anything wrong. It is sad.

That burm must have had bigger eyes that a stomach.
Well, like was said earlier, another one bites the dust. Rule of thumb, if youre going to handle a snake that is bigger (taller) than you, you should probably at least have someone WATCHING. I'll bet that the kid gave the 9 footer quite a fight before he succumbed to the constriction.
The fight would have lasted long enough for someone to run and get some help... or at least a knife (which, believe it or not in the 2nd and final measure taken in zoos for large constrictor attacks... so I've read). The first being to physically remove the snake by force, hot water, or just simply beating it until it releases).
It's a sad story, but no one can deny this story may just qualify for everyone's favorite... The Darwin Awards!

If the rules at the zoo are.......DO NOT HANDLE ANY ANIMAL ALONE.......then........DON'T.
It is sad that it happened.........but........you never handle a large snake alone.
Accidents happen all of the time when you work with animals........you must never let your guard down.........EVER!!!

Well,it is very sad that the young man died BUT the zoo had rules for a reason and if he had obeyed these rules,we wouldn't be posting on this topic right now......
