It is amazing to me how people can sleep at night KNOWING the damage they are causing these animals!How long does it take to clean a cage and scrub a bowl then add new water? NOT LONG and isn't that what they get paid to do? grrrrrr!

these are people who are getting paid minimum wage to work at a pet shop, they are more than likely disgruntled workers, which doesn't lead to good things, not making excuses for them by any means but to them its just a job.

let me ask you a question, do you give 200% everyday, every hour at your job, most of us cant honestly answer no, the only difference is most peoples jobs dont involve animal life.

now should the owner hire people who love working with animals, yes. can he afford those people no.

so he needs retarded brain dead people he can pay minimum wage and call it good.

have you tried calling local animal control to report the store? I filed a complaint against a store when I lived down in SoCal, it didn't really 'fix' all the problems, but an agent went to the store, talked to the manager and the store knew they were being watched. They cleaned up a bit and at least started taking the dead ones out more often. You could also file a complain with the better business bureau or even the local news! If you have photos, it helps.

Buying or 'saving' the snake really does nothing other than make the store money and then they'll just get another one to replace it. As sad as it is to walk away from that type of situation, sometimes it's best. Also, I thought it was illegal for dogs and cats to be sold in pet stores here in CA?
